You play as a researcher on a Mars outpost. You and your team were experimenting with genetically altering plants to make it easier to feed colonies on Mars, but instead you accidentally created human size carrots fueled by revenge for their brothers and sisters consumed by humankind. You goal is to activate the outpost’s defenses and survive the horde of carrots entering the outpost through the windows until the defenses boot up. My main focus for the project was the programming aspect of things. I made the enemy and quest code super flexible to make it easy to add new types of enemies and quests in the future. I have some ideas for some more enemies I would like to add eventually (ranged, exploder, and a few others). I think I may continue development of this project in my free time. I have a long list of things I would eventually like to add; for example more weapons, sound, animations, and a bunch more. While design wasn’t my focus for this project, I did spend a bit of time trying to make an interesting level. There are things I would like to change/add though. Do to time constraints, I wasn’t able to do any cool lighting, post processing, or make a Mars exterior. I would eventually like to add those things and also touch up the interior. I bought the art assets from Synty Studios. The assets used were from their Sci-Fi Space and Farming packs.
